Future projects
We've accomplished a lot in Cēsis, and each project makes us more excited for the next one. Join us in saying – living in Cēsis is awesome.
Pumpura Quarter

Laying the foundation
We acquire the first building in the Pumpura Quarter. A decision is made to create the Spīdala House in honor of the heroine from Andrejs Pumpurs’ epic “Lāčplēsis.” It describes Spīdala as a sorceress and witch who initially symbolizes dark forces. However, she fights against the evil that seeks to destroy Lāčplēsis’ homeland, Latvia, and therefore becomes a symbol of the nation’s spiritual strength.
Spīdala House opens
The Spīdala House is restored and opens its doors to visitors of Cēsis. Every detail in this building is carefully considered – the historical spirit is combined with a modern interior and a green outdoor space that complement each other perfectly. Smart technologies help maintain a pleasant climate and make the building energy-efficient.
The next chapter – reading room
We acquire the neighboring buildings, which are given the names Lāčplēsis and Laimdota. Given the special significance of these names in the history of Latvian literature, we respond to the call of Dagnija Baltiņa, Director of the National Library of Latvia, to promote literacy among the people – the Laimdota House will host the first private reading room in Cēsis.

Konrāds Quarter

The idea begins
Draugiem Group acquires several buildings in the very heart of the Old Town. A decision is made to create the Konrāds Quarter, an ensemble of four buildings – the Konrāds House, the Pastor’s House, the Carriage House, and the Friends’ House.
The restoration work begins
Extensive restoration work begins, including the reinforcement of the Konrāds House foundations and the raising of the Pastor’s House above the cultural layer of the Old Town.
A message for tomorrow
A time capsule is placed in the foundations of the Friends’ House. It will be a place to gather, celebrate, and enjoy art and culture.
Welcoming the first guests
The first house has been completed. The Pastor’s House has been restored to its historical appearance and opens its doors to the first guests. Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, during the Cēsis Municipality Festival, welcomes Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas and Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal with their families. They are staying overnight at the Pastor’s House.
Ginko is planted
In the courtyard of the upcoming Konrāds Quarter we planted a nine-meter-tall maidenhair (ginkgo biloba) tree. Like the buildings of the Cēsis Old Town, it is a true witness of the past – only much older, having survived both the Ice Ages and the dinosaurs.
The Balcony returns
Cēsis Old Town’s central square has regained one of its defining features. The Konrāds House, just as in days gone by, is once again adorned with a wrought-iron balcony. It is not only beautiful and functional but also fosters a sense of connection, as it links two rental apartments within the Konrāds House.
