“Pumpura kvartāls” is under construction

In February of this year, “Draugiem Group” company “Mājas Cēsīs” completed a significant project for itself – the construction of “Spīdalas nams” apartments in Cēsīs, which began receiving guests. Now, “Mājas Cēsīs” has acquired another property next to “Spīdalas nams” – the house where poet Andrejs Pumpurs wrote his most famous work “Lāčplēsis” for a while.

The total area of ​​the buildings of the property purchased by “Mājas Cēsīs” exceeds 600 square meters, and the land area is 1,000 square meters.

“Draugiem Group” spokesperson Jānis Palkavnieks tells “Delfi Bizness” that this property was purchased to create an ensemble of houses, including “Spīdalas nams”, which will be called “Pumpura kvartāls”.

It will be a complex of three buildings, which will include “Spīdalas nams”, “Lāčplēša nams”, where Pumpurs stayed, and “Laimdotas nams”. “Spīdalas nams” and “Lāčplēša nams” are located on the side of the street, while “Laimdotas nams” is located in the courtyard. After the renovation works, the “Pumpura kvartāls” will already have three buildings with rental apartments, as well as an inner courtyard and a special place to meet for conversations.

The construction of the nearby “Konrāda kvartāls” is also currently in full swing.

“Delfi Bizness” previously wrote that there are four buildings in this block, the first two of which are currently undergoing construction or restoration work – the “Mācītāja māja” and “Ratu māja”. In turn, the “Konrāda nams”, after which the entire block is now named, will, after renovation, make a significant contribution to the revitalization of “Rožu laukums”. The building has been empty for more than thirty years.

“Konrāda kvartāls” will have both short-term rental apartments and long-term rental housing. For longer-term living, apartments will be offered directly in “Konrāda nams”, which also has a café/restaurant on the first floor. The new building will have spaces that could be dedicated to both office needs and events, they will be universal, quickly transformable, the concept was previously outlined by Palkavnieks.

The courtyard and the terrace created within it will be publicly accessible, including ensuring accessibility to the environment for everyone. It is located right next to the castle fence and from its viewing platform you will be able to see the castle courtyard.
