Spīdalas House

Our first project in the old town of Cēsis. And our first ones always hold a special place in our hearts. Every detail of this house has been carefully considered, blending historic charm with a modern interior and a beautifully landscaped outdoor space that perfectly complement one another.

Smart technologies help maintain a pleasant climate in the house and make the building energy-efficient. We love modern solutions, so we’re proud to have installed the first heat pump in the historic city center.

The name was inspired by the neighboring house where Andrejs Pumpurs once lived and wrote the Latvian epic poem “Lāčplēsis” (“The Bear-Slayer”). In the story, Spīdala is portrayed as a sorceress and witch who initially embodies dark forces. But Spīdala fights against the evil threatening to destroy Lāčplēsis’ homeland, Latvia, becoming the symbol of the nation’s spiritual strength.

A true sense of home isn’t complete without delicious food. At Spīdalas Bode (Spīdala’s Shop), located right on the ground floor, you can find a variety of treats – snacks, drinks, and ready-made meals that can quickly be heated up in the apartments. Each apartment is fully equipped with utensils, plates, glasses, a frying pan, pots, and a convection oven. It’s as simple and convenient as that. The guests of Spīdalas House truly appreciate both the high-quality food and the possibility to shop at the self-service store anytime.
