The story of Konrāda nams
Konrāda nams was built in the mid-19th century, at a time when the economic and social life of Cēsis was actively taking shape.
The building's best-known name dates from 1902, when ownership was confirmed to Matilde Paulīne Emelīne Konrāds. Standing by the old market square, its ground floor housed shops, workshops, and stores over the years. In 1911, one of the first cinemas in Cēsis - "Teatrs Pate Elektrokino" - also opened in Konrāda nams.
